CRITERIA FOR APPLYING FOR A JAMALCO COMMUNITY SCHOLARSHIP
- Be a Jamaican citizen and submit a completed application form for undergraduate degrees only.
- New applicants must provide two (2) letters of recommendation – one academic and one character. Students who are re-applying do not need references.
- One copy of your birth certificate or other document showing evidence of age and nationality.
- All applicants must submit copies of academic transcript(s)/Grade Sheet/s.
- Be enrolled in an accredited tertiary institution or have been accepted to a tertiary institution.
- Be in good academic standing with an overall GPA of 3.0/ B+ average or above.
- Demonstrate dire financial need.
- Demonstrable involvement in extra-curricular and community activities. Students awarded scholarships must be prepared (based on availability) to donate hours on Jamalco funded community projects
- Students who benefit from a grant or scholarship from other institutions are not eligible to receive a Jamalco scholarship.
- Students who enroll in a three-year programme but change their course of study are not eligible to receive a grant or scholarship for more than the original three years for which they were registered.
- Failure to disclose the truth or mislead the scholarship committee may result in the disqualification of the offending candidate.
- Students who are studying overseas do not qualify for scholarships.
APPLICATIONS OPEN May 4 – June 12, 2026. The completed application form and ALL supporting documents MUST be supplied NO LATER THAN Friday, June 12, 2026, in an envelope clearly labeled with the information below.
